The Third Training Session on “Psychological Consultation Ethics of Chinese Culture of Culture-inclusive Theories” Hold by School of Social Psychology
SMU News, Dec. 29 From 21 to 23 December, at the invitation of the School of Social Psychology, Professor Wang Zhihong, from Changhua normal University in Taiwan, came to our university to hold the third training session on “Psychological consultation Ethics of Chinese Culture of Culture-inclusive Theories”. The training was carried out in I-Space on Wuhou campus, and more than 40 teachers and students participated in.
During the training, Professor Wang expounded major ethical issues in psychological counseling for the university’s full-time and part-time teachers and graduate students from the Mental Health Center in a humorous and interesting way. The training is mainly carried out in the form of lectures and group discussions, mainly involving five aspects, namely, the consultation ethics for minors, the ethics for elderly, the ethics of sexual orientation, the ethics of the parties to the mental disorder, and the ethics of the parties to the addictive behavior.
The participants got absorbed in the training with active simulation, questions and discussions. Professor Wang also gave a detailed explanation of what the attendees did not understand. During the training, the graduate students who participated in the on-site counselling simulation performed well, and received the praise of Professor Wang, which affirmed the professionalism of the university’s postgraduate training.
The training was a great success with the joint efforts of teachers and students.
