Following the guideline of “focusing on big projects while improving scientific research and the capacity for independent innovation”, SAUP has energetically explored new approaches to enhance scientific research, thereby having made greater achievements in team building, scientific projects, publication of papers and monographs and academic exchanges.
To help realize the goal of building a top, featured, and modern university for minorities, SAUP has defined the notion of “integrating teaching, scientific research and social service; combining practices and innovation with planning and design; and incorporating traditions and modern factors with ethnic features”, and adhered to the principles of “realizing self-development through premium education, excellent service and fruitful scientific research”. With the focus on “integration of humanities and science, and inter-infiltration of art and architecture”, SAUP endeavors to, through 5 to 10 years’ efforts, develop into a most influential architectural school with salient characteristics, excellent quality and prominent advantages in West China, or even in the whole country.
