The School of Computer Science and Technology (SCST) was a merger between the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in 2000. In 1984, the program of computer applications was established. In 1988, the undergraduate program for Bachelor’s Degree in computer applications became available, enabling SCST to become one of the first institutions of higher learning to offer the Associate's Degree and the Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science in Sichuan Province. After years of unremitting efforts, the school has built an excellent and well-trained faculty team, which has fostered numerous talents in computer science and mathematics for ethnic minority inhabited areas and ethnic minorities.
By integrating the disciplines of computer science, mathematics, and management, SCST offers seven undergraduate programs in computer science and technology, software engineering, information management and system, information and computing science, mathematics and applied mathematics, network engineering, and internet of things engineering. Amongst these programs, computer science and technology is selected as a “comprehensive reform pilot program” of Sichuan Province, and software engineering is recognized as an “excellent engineer training program” of Sichuan Province.
By integrating the disciplines of computer science, agronomy and management, SCST offers a master’s degree program in engineering (computer technology) and a master’s degree program in agricultural promotion (agricultural informatization), as well as a primary postgraduate program in management science and engineering with intelligent management & information safety and information management & decision support as its two research orientations.
